Animal Adventurers Workshop: Let’s make Pet-Themed Jewelry! Join Pasadena Humane as they explore Shrinky Dink jewelry ! What’s a Shrinky Dink, you ask? It’s a polystyrene sheet that can be drawn on and cut with standard household scissors. It is then baked in your oven and “shrunk down” to jewelry size. Each registrant will receive their own fun pack of shrinky dinks, jewelry accessories and stencils. Follow along as they make bracelets, key chains and so much more! Please note they will provide all jewelry accessories as well as shrinky dink sheets but recommend needle nose pliers to make this project easier! Have Your Pet’s Portrait Made by a Youth in the C.A.R.E.4Paws Youth Program
C.A.R.E.4Paws is proud to partner with the amazing youth at the United Boys & Girls Club in Lompoc to provide wonderful portraits of all types of pets, while raising critical funds their critical work. This includes their youth program, Paws Up For Pets, which promotes compassion and accountability for animals and inspires empathy in our community as a whole.The youth work very hard on the pieces and not only do they have fun, but they feel a strong sense of achievement in the process. Make Cat Trap Covers for Pasadena Humane Society
The Trap-Neuter-Return-Monitor (TNRM) program aims at helping as many community cats as possible. Cat trap covers offer a sense of safety, protection, and calm to the cats awaiting their surgery, during post-surgery recovery, and being returned to their homes. If you'd like to make cat trap covers, please visit their website for instructions. Each cat trap cover will earn you 15 service hours. They will also accept un-sewn beach towels for 4 hours per towel. Completed service projects may be submitted any time Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to the Volunteer Services Office. Make DIY Face Masks! Calling all sewers (and non sewers)! If you'd like to help make masks, consider making a few and donating them to the pasadena humane society. You can make no sew masks as well. Each mask is worth 2 service hours. Completed service projects may be submitted any time Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to the Volunteer Services Office.
