Foster a Dog and Save a Life with Ace of Hearts
One of the best ways you can help Ace of Hearts is volunteering to foster a dog. For each new foster home that opens up, they are able to save the life of another shelter dog on death row. Opening your heart and home to a dog in need can bring you joy and the satisfaction that comes from knowing you've made a difference in an animal's life. Simply put, fostering saves lives! You provide the love and attention; they provide everything else! They provide you with food, treats, a bed, and any veterinary care the dog may need. Help Transport Dogs to Weekly Appointments
Ace of Hearts is always in need of people to help transport their dogs to and from weekly adoptions, to the vet, to doggie daycare, and on any other excursions that might arise. They also need help dropping off food and medicine to fosters who don't have cars. If you have a car and love animals, this is the volunteer opportunity for you! Ace of Hearts is non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and relies upon private donations to help fund their rescue operation. All donations are tax deductible. Help Clean Dog Shelters at Beagles and Buddies
This volunteer opportunity is to keep the dog houses clean at the Beagles and Buddies facility. Cleaning doggie houses, washing and replacing beds. This is a job for those not afraid of hot water, bleach & pine sol. They keep the doggies and their living spaces clean and that's a demanding chore. They could really use help in this area! Socialize with Dogs at Beagles and Buddies
Folks who love dogs & can pet them, brush them, walk them, or just hang out with the shy ones to help them socialize. Anyone from age 14 to 100 who can love a dog is welcome. Looking for foster homes, but especially now with the issue of the COVID-19 virus. Several families have already been generous in opening their homes to their dogs. Join Beagles and Buddies Special Friends Program
Some of B&B's dogs are looking for Special Friends – friends who will help them get adopted! They are looking for volunteers who are willing to work one-on-one with a dog who could use a little "coaching" to help him/her get adopted. If you are interested, you must have come to Beagles and Buddies as a regular volunteer at least 3 times before you can join the Special Friends program. Beagles and Buddies is a no-kill shelter. That means that sometimes a dog can be at B&B for years before the right person comes along to adopt it. Join us for a day of walking, bathing, and working alongside the dogs of The Brittany Foundation! Volunteering is a great way to offer direct help to the dogs at the rescue and you’ll get to see first-hand the difference you're making! They need your help with dog walking, socializing dogs, playing with the dogs, grooming, and landscaping. Whatever you know how to do, there’s a place for you! C.A.R.E.4Paws is proud to partner with the amazing youth at the United Boys & Girls Club in Lompoc to provide wonderful portraits of all types of pets, while raising critical funds their critical work. This includes their youth program, Paws Up For Pets, which promotes compassion and accountability for animals and inspires empathy in their community as a whole.The youth work very hard on the pieces and not only do they have fun, but they feel a strong sense of achievement in the process.
