Celebrate Wild for the Planet at the LA Zoo with a weekend of wildlife conservation, interactive learning, and family-friendly fun! Animal Care & Conservation. Join their Animal Care Presentations at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m. to learn how our zoo helps protect wildlife through expertise in animal biology, behavior, and genetics. Earth Expo (Fri–Sun) Explore ways to protect nature with hands-on activities like the Planting for Pollinators Station and Upcycling Inspiration Lab. Meet conservation partners, including the National Park Service, Friends of California Condors, and Pasadena Audubon Society (partner schedule varies by day). Special Activities: Honey Tasting (10 a.m.–3 p.m., $4) – Sample five varieties of all-natural honey. Storytime (Fri & Sat, 12 & 2 p.m.) – Featuring Los Angeles Public Library and Grumpy Monkey creators Suzanne & Max Lang. 3rd Rock Hip Hop (Sat & Sun, 11 a.m. & 1 p.m.) – Sing and dance while learning about sustainability. Photos with Big Bunny – Available for purchase (no personal photos). Education Stations: Great Apes – Learn what makes them unique through interactive activities. Wildlife Corridors – See how connecting habitats helps animals thrive. ECO-CELL Sweepstakes (Apr. 18–20) Recycle old handheld electronics at the Zoo for a chance to win a Family Membership! Visit Pasadena Humane Society’s Pop-Up Dog Adoption Event at the Crescenta Valley Hometown Country Fair

The Wiggle Waggle Waggin’ is out and about bringing adoptable pets to your community. Visit the Waggin’ and adopt your new best friend! The Hometown Country Fair features a car show, live entertainment, a dog parade, pie-eating contest, food, karaoke contest, inflatables, a silent auction and a wide variety of vendor booths, providing fun for people of all ages.

Puppy guardians! Looking for a safe and fun venue to socialize your new best friend? Join the training staff and fellow new puppy parents at Pasadena Humane’s Puppy Playschool. This ongoing workshop welcomes vaccinated puppies who are over 8 weeks or under 16 weeks of age. Your puppy will be gently exposed to novel sights & sounds and their small sized playgroups are thoughtfully designed to help build your puppy’s confidence gradually. Skilled trainers and volunteers educated in dog body language will be on hand to guide you and your pup to learn about healthy play & positive training building blocks. Must have one adult pet parent present $25 per session Your puppy must be up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines

Join the Fungus Fighters workshop at Pasadena Humane Society

Join the ranks of their Fungus Fighters and become a kitten foster superhero! During kitten season, the shelter often see baby cats coming through their doors with ringworm – which, despite its name, is actually a fungus. It’s highly treatable, but kittens with ringworm need specialized TLC separate from kittens who don’t have it. That’s where you come in! In this workshop, their expert staff will empower you to foster ringworm kittens through educational presentations and hands-on activities. You’ll learn how to identify the fungus, safely handle and care for these kittens in your own home, and effectively administer treatment. So put on your cape and come find out how you can help these tiny, vulnerable felines thrive! Fungus Fighters assemble! Workshops will run every hour throughout the duration of this event.
