A Cat's Tale is glad you have chosen to rescue a cat. Most cats end up homeless because their former owners did not understand or plan for the long- term commitment of owning a companion animal. In an effort to make sure cats finds their forever home each adoption begins with an adoption application/interview and sometimes a home visit. A Cat's Tale take the time to make sure that they are matching potential adopter’s with a cat that will fit their lifestyle and vise versa. All animals are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and additional care is provided as needed to ensure the health of each animal. Each adopted cat or kitten also comes with a free vet visit. It is their policy to require an adoption fee that helps to cover medical and routine care of the cats in their care. A Cat’s Tale is an all-volunteer organization. Since there are no paid employees it is their volunteers who help them run their rescue and help them save the lives of homeless animals. Their to do list is long and they can always use more help! Want to get involved? A Cat's Tale needs foster parents and volunteers in the following areas: Cat habitat cleaning and maintenance, Cat adoption team volunteers for events in Culver City and Manhattan Beach, Adoption event help for special adoption events, Sewing help -to create crate pads for cats/kittens, Bookkeeping/Tax assistant, Fund raising and grant writing assistants, Cat Photographer/ Videographer, Special events coordinator to develop and organize special events, Newsletter writer, Correspondence secretaries to send out information and send thank you notes, Transporting cats to and from veterinary clinics! Join us for a day of walking, bathing, and working alongside the dogs of The Brittany Foundation! Volunteering is a great way to offer direct help to the dogs at the rescue and you’ll get to see first-hand the difference you're making! They need your help with dog walking, socializing dogs, playing with the dogs, grooming, and landscaping. Whatever you know how to do, there’s a place for you! The event will take place outside, so please remember to dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes. All ages are welcome, but all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your pet by Big Sunday headquarters to have their portrait taken (for FREE!) by a professional photographer. The portrait can include people (e.g., you) or just be your pet. For every portrait we take, Big Sunday will donate 5 cans of dog food or cat food (your choice!) to our Wild & Woolly Pet Food Collection! (The goal in April is 2024 cans of each. You do the math!)
