Donate to Support PAWS/LA
PAWS/LA is dedicated to preserving the human-animal bond for the most vulnerable, disenfranchised pet guardians. More than twenty (20) research studies conducted over the past ten (10) years document the positive correlation between contact with animals and improved emotional outlook and health stability. For impoverished pet guardians the additional expense of caring for their companion animals is a burden they are only able to bear at a great personal price. In order to provide for their cherished companions, particularly in emergency situations, they often sacrifice their own medicine, food and other essential needs. This usually provides only a temporary “solution." PAWS/LA steps in to bridge the gap between pet companionship and relinquishment. Consider these numbers in Los Angeles County: 1 out of every 7.6 residents lives in poverty. Approximately 900,000 pet owners live at or below poverty level.Average annual cost of pet care is $9,000. Cost of pet care is among the top 5 reasons for shelter relinquishments. YOUR DONATION CAN HELP THEIR FAMILIES!
Donate to PAWS/LA’s Wishlist
Thousands of low-income seniors and individuals with life-threatening illnesses in Los Angeles rely on the unconditional love of their companion animals. They struggle to meet their own basic needs and have a difficult time providing basic care for their pets. At PAWS/LA, they know that a companion animal can provide both emotional and psychological benefits. They believe it is vital to keep people and pets together. To meet the great demand for pet food, toys, bedding and other necessities, they rely on caring neighbors like you. If you are interested in supporting PAWS/LA by donating your new or gently used items, please see their WISH LIST to find out what items are needed to assist the animal guardian who call on them for help.
