Weekly adoptions held at North Redondo Beach Petco. Most cats end up homeless because their former owners did not understand or plan for the long- term commitment of owning a companion animal. In an effort to make sure cats finds their forever home each of their adoption begins with an adoption application/interview and sometimes a home visit. They take the time to make sure that they are matching potential adopter’s with a cat that will fit their lifestyle and vise versa. All animals are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and additional care is provided as needed to ensure the health of each animal. Each adopted cat or kitten also comes with a free vet visit. It is their policy to require an adoption fee that helps to cover medical and routine care of the cats in their care.

Looking to adopt a dog? The Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue has plenty of Labs that are in need of a home! SCLRR is a non-profit rescue, adoption and referral organization, dedicated to placing unwanted and abandoned Labradors in new homes. Their goal is to match each of our rescued Labs with just the right family in the hopes that each new home will be a permanent one. Currently they serve most of Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura Counties. SCLRR also serve the coastal communities of Santa Barbara County from Goleta south to the Ventura County border and, in the southwestern corner of San Bernardino County we serve the cities of Chino, Chino Hills, Upland and Rancho Cucamonga—dependent on volunteer availability. The Stray Cat Alliance adoption program provides foster and forever homes for cats and kittens pulled from municipal shelters, found on the streets through TNR, or from hotline requests for support when cats are faced with being taken to shelters or abandonment. Many cats from other programs feed into the adoptions program. Each cat and kitten receives veterinary care (spay/neuter, vaccines, testing, check-ups, microchips) until a permanent, loving home is secured.

For over 30 years, The Amanda Foundation has been rescuing dogs and cats from city and country shelters around Los Angeles and finding them loving homes. A Cat’s Tale is an all-volunteer organization. Since there are no paid employees it is their volunteers who help them run their rescue and help them save the lives of homeless animals.
