Volunteer to Help Animals with LA County Animal Care and Control
The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control relies on volunteer support from the community to provide additional public service and animal care programs that are vital to a healthy community. They are currently in need of committed volunteers, able to make a nine month or more commitment. If you have a love for animals and have a minimum of eight hours a month to donate your time, please consider becoming a volunteer in one of their seven animal care centers. Opportunities include helping with administrative work, adoptions, community events, and more. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age at the beginning of service. If a volunteer is a minor (16-17), parental permission is required. Orientations are held a minimum of once a quarter or bi-annually depending on the care center location. After applying, you will receive an auto email with more information and a Volunteer Coordinator will reach out with next steps. Once orientation is completed, volunteers will be required to complete online and in person training.

Rescue super sanctuary is home to more than 1500 animals that have all been abandoned in the wilderness. Dogs and cats who have been abandoned are about to live out their lives in comfort and safety with warm homes, high-quality food, and medical care. D.E.L.T.A. Rescue is the only organization that absolutely refuses to accept animals from the public when they want to give them up. D.E.L.T.A. rescues only animals that are abandoned in the wilderness. You may choose to work with any or all of their animal populations. Volunteers are also needed to assist with other important roles such as: adoptions, kennels, greeting customers, photography, videography, playgroups, grooming, humane education, marketing, and some office tasks. Volunteer opportunities are available during their business hours; Tuesdays through Fridays, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. and Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Looking for a animal companion? Please fill the Lange Foundation's cat application or dog application. Tell them about yourself and the type of cat or dog you’re dreaming about (pair of kittens, adult cat, senior dog, etc.). Please feel free to list specific animals that you are interested in, but it’s not necessary. Their goal is to play matchmaker and find the right pet for you, your family, and your lifestyle. As the adoption process moves quickly, there may be cats or dogs available to meet that haven’t even made it online yet. So if you’re not seeing your perfect match on the website just yet, it’s still a great idea to apply. The average response time to applications is 1-2 days. They'll schedule a time for you to visit the animals at their kennel. Assuming all goes well and you want to adopt, they'll take care of paperwork, collect medical records from the vet, and get everything ready for your new pet to go home. They do not do same day adoptions, but you can expect to pick up your new cat or dog from the kennel within a day or two.

The Lange Foundation needs your help. They are only able to help those animals in need thanks to your support. At the Lange Foundation, they are passionate about their mission of saving helpless and homeless animals. They have a special place in their hearts for those sick, injured, and senior animals who need them most. You can help in a variety of ways. They desperately need funding and supplies to house, feed, and care for over 200 animals at both their Halfway Home Kennel and St. Bonnie’s Sanctuary locations. Volunteers are always welcome, not only to provide love and exercise to the animals but also to help organize fundraisers, spread the word, and assist with the everyday tasks of a busy rescue. They are very grateful for your support.

DaphneyLand Basset Hound Rescue relies on the dedication of hands-on volunteers to maintain their unique five-acre "Basset Rescue Ranch" in Acton. Volunteers play a vital role in the daily care of 75–100 Basset Hounds and mixes, performing essential tasks such as cleaning kennels, picking up in the yard, and washing food and water bowls. Beyond the physical labor, they invite volunteers to provide the one-on-one contact these hounds crave—whether it's giving a much-needed bath, brushing a long-eared friend, or simply calling a dog's name and offering a kind gesture. By spending just a few hours a week at the ranch, volunteers help provide the socialization and "pack environment" rehabilitation that prepares these special-needs and senior hounds for their future forever homes. This role is perfect for those who want to experience a unique, no-kill facility focused on hounds that require extra care and behavior modification. Minors must be with an adult
Age Restrictions?: Yes (Please see comments in Description of Event)
