Help Preserve Starr Ranch by Donating

Thank you for supporting Starr Ranch. Your donation will help: Enroll students in our Field Ecology and Junior Biologist programs, now in their second decade of giving insight into nature and imparting valuable practical skills. Support their seasonal restoration and education staff – recent college graduates from all over the country who come to live and work at Starr Ranch for 6-10 months to learn about their innovative approaches to restoration, wildlife research, and education. Remove invasive plant species – without the use of toxic chemicals – in preparation to restore rare habitats such as coastal sage scrub, which is found only here, in Southern California. Increase the quality of the viewing experience of Starr Ranch's webcams – their broadcasts heard 'round the world. Maintain Starr Ranch. This includes twelve buildings, eight vehicles, two tractors plus implements, and 18 miles of roads. Most importantly, it will help preserve this special place. From all of us at Starr Ranch, thank you! You may also mail your donation directly at Starr Ranch Sanctuary, 100 Bell Canyon Road, Trabuco Canyon, CA 92679.

Join the Ranch Crew at a Hanaeleh Horse Rescue Community Work Day

Hanaeleh Horse Rescue opens their ranch to the public for large-scale maintenance and improvement projects designed to keep the facility safe and beautiful for the resident horses. These events are perfect for individuals or families who want to give back without a weekly commitment. Volunteers assist with various ranch chores, which may include painting, mending fences, or clearing brush. While they welcome volunteers of all ages, they suggest that children under 10 participate in private tours instead, as most work projects are better suited for older children and adults.

Champion Wildlife Conservation with the International Rhino Foundation through Global Advocacy

Helping Rhinos engages a global network of volunteers to support the protection and expansion of rhino populations across Africa and Asia. During Earth Month, they seek "Rhino Ambassadors" to help spread awareness about the critically endangered status of the five remaining rhino species through digital advocacy and local community outreach. Volunteers assist by sharing educational resources, participating in virtual fundraising workshops, and helping to document conservation success stories like the recovery of the Greater One-Horned Rhino. This remote-friendly role allows individuals to contribute to international wildlife protection from their own communities. Supporters can help raise funds for anti-poaching units and habitat restoration projects by organizing local awareness events or participating in coordinated social media campaigns.

Beautify Los Angeles with LANLT’s Community Aid Teams

The Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust was founded in 2002 to address Los Angeles's park inequities. They focus their efforts exclusively in communities of color that have little to no access to green space. Their Park Spaces and Community Gardens are calling for you, won't you volunteer with them? You don't need a green thumb—just a willing heart. Volunteer at a one-time event or workshop series at one of the parks! Partner directly with a garden elder or family who needs a helping hand! Join in planting seeds of change. Email bmoraga@lanlt.org, call 213-449-2603 or scan QR code, to find your perfect volunteer fit in a garden or park near you. https://www.lanlt.org/
