Pasadena Humane opens its doors for “Visiting Hours” on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted). Visitors are welcome to walk through the dog kennels, Neely Cat Center and Critter House to see the animals available for adoption. No appointment necessary.

Their weekly volunteer program at Hanaeleh is for individuals who are able to commit to volunteering once per week. Please read all of the following information so you can decide if volunteering at Hanaeleh is right for you. Their weekly program is designed to equip our volunteers with the knowledge and skills to help support the work of their rescue and to provide continuity of care for their horses.Their trained volunteers come out every Saturday morning from 8:30 am to noon and specific times during the week. Advanced notice is needed if you cannot make it for your scheduled time. They are currently scheduling volunteers for mornings Monday through Saturday. Volunteers as young as 16 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult. What you’ll be doing: Their volunteers learn the ins-and-outs of how the rescue runs. Join TreePeople and CalFire in the beautiful San Francisquito Canyon of the Angeles National Forest. Below the rocky hills of the Sierra Pelona mountains, next to a creek leading to the Santa Clara River, they will be restoring an area of the wildlands damaged by the Copper Fire by caring for the native chaparral plants which provide deer, coyotes and others with food and shelter. Expect to get your hands dirty removing invasive weeds and carrying buckets of water to native plantings over uneven terrain.

Puppy guardians! Looking for a safe and fun venue to socialize your new best friend? Join the training staff and fellow new puppy parents at Pasadena Humane’s Puppy Playschool. This ongoing workshop welcomes vaccinated puppies who are over 8 weeks or under 16 weeks of age. Your puppy will be gently exposed to novel sights & sounds and their small sized playgroups are thoughtfully designed to help build your puppy’s confidence gradually. Skilled trainers and volunteers educated in dog body language will be on hand to guide you and your pup to learn about healthy play & positive training building blocks. Must have one adult pet parent present $25 per session Your puppy must be up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines
