Provide Weekly Horse Care at Hanaeleh Horse Rescue

Their weekly volunteer program at Hanaeleh is for individuals who are able to commit to volunteering once per week. Please read all of the following information so you can decide if volunteering at Hanaeleh is right for you. Their weekly program is designed to equip our volunteers with the knowledge and skills to help support the work of their rescue and to provide continuity of care for their horses.Their trained volunteers come out every Saturday morning from 8:30 am to noon and specific times during the week. Advanced notice is needed if you cannot make it for your scheduled time. They are currently scheduling volunteers for mornings Monday through Saturday. Volunteers as young as 16 are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult. What you’ll be doing: Their volunteers learn the ins-and-outs of how the rescue runs. They muck out all of the horse’s stalls, wash and clean their feed bins, salt licks and water containers.They rake up hay around each stall and generally clean up all the ranch areas. After that they help with chores around the ranch and feed the horses.

Volunteer at Dream Catcher LA

Volunteers are an essential part of all their programs. DCLA volunteers willingly give their time, energy, support and hearts to those in need. They embrace all those who volunteer with the greatest of appreciation. They don’t get paid because they are all priceless! They are actively seeking volunteers to help with lessons, horse care, fundraising, and other organizational tasks. You do not need to have any experience with horses to help out. They will provide the necessary training for you to be a growing part of our organization. They ask that you try and commit to volunteering on a regular basis so their riders and staff have as much consistency as possible. Dream Catcher is committed to establishing, maintaining and delivering professional programs designed to enhance the lives of those individuals with physical, social, educational, or psychological challenges. They provide the highest quality services to the individuals who can benefit from the programs we offer. Their staff members have degrees in areas of Special Education, Physical Therapy, and Psychology, with additional specialized training and certification in Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy. Their goal is to help individuals succeed and miracles to happen! They have many individuals of all ages that have "special challenges" ranging from those with physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs, along with those who have suffered from a trauma or are recovering from injury. They work with individuals and their families to provide the best services possible. Your help is greatly appreciated in enriching the lives of others through horses and humans. Qualifications: Reliability, Patience, Comfortable around horses, Ability to establish rapport and gain confidence of rider and ability to take and follow directions. Responsibilities: Comfort and safety of the rider, Walk beside the rider providing physical support as needed, reinforce instructor's directions and be constantly alert to the possible need for instantaneous help. Visit Animals at Pasadena Humane Society

Pasadena Humane opens its doors for “Visiting Hours” on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted). Visitors are welcome to walk through the dog kennels, Neely Cat Center and Critter House to see the animals available for adoption. No appointment necessary.
