The Lange Foundation needs your help. They are only able to help those animals in need thanks to your support. At the Lange Foundation, they are passionate about their mission of saving helpless and homeless animals. They have a special place in their hearts for those sick, injured, and senior animals who need them most. You can help in a variety of ways. They desperately need funding and supplies to house, feed, and care for over 200 animals at both their Halfway Home Kennel and St. Bonnie’s Sanctuary locations. Volunteers are always welcome, not only to provide love and exercise to the animals but also to help organize fundraisers, spread the word, and assist with the everyday tasks of a busy rescue. They are very grateful for your support.
Empower Shelter Pets with the Downey Animal Care Center through Volunteerism
Downey Animal Care Center relies on dedicated community members to improve the daily lives of shelter animals while they wait for their forever homes. Volunteers in this role provide essential exercise, basic obedience training, and social interaction for dogs, cats, and rabbits, which significantly increases their chances of being successfully adopted. Participants can also assist by photographing animals for social media and acting as "Shelter Hosts" to greet the public and help potential adopters find a great match. By committing just a few hours each month, their volunteers directly impact the well-being of local animals and support the care center’s lifesaving mission. New volunteers must complete an online application and attend a mandatory orientation. They request a minimum commitment of 8 hours per month for at least 9 months to maintain consistency for the animals and the facility. Must be 16 or older; minors 16–17 require parental consent
Find a Best Friend with the Downey Animal Care Center at their Pawscars Adoption Showcase
Downey Animal Care Center celebrates the unique personalities of its resident pets through a month-long series of "Pawscars" adoption events held every day at the care center. They invite the community to visit and meet a wide variety of dogs and cats that are ready to bring joy and companionship to a new home. These daily showcases are designed to highlight the diverse breeds and temperaments available, making it easy for families to connect with a pet that fits their lifestyle. Their staff and volunteers are on-site to facilitate introductions and provide information on the adoption process, ensuring a smooth transition for both the pet and the owner. Visitors can view adoptable pets during public hours and speak with adoption counselors to learn about specific animal needs and history. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Support Lifesaving Efforts with Hanaeleh Horse Rescue through Fundraising
Hanaeleh Horse Rescue is in great need of "behind-the-scenes" supporters to help sustain the rescue through professional and administrative tasks. This volunteer path is ideal for those who may not meet the physical requirements of ranch work but want to contribute their skills in communication and organization. Volunteers in this role help coordinate events, make phone calls to local businesses, and assist with donor outreach. By helping to secure the necessary funds for hay and medical expenses, these advocates play a vital role in the rescue’s long-term success.
Guard Endangered Species with Helping Rhinos as a Rhino Guardian
Helping Rhinos invites supporters to take a standing role in wildlife protection by becoming a Rhino Guardian. This monthly giving program provides the consistent, reliable funding necessary to keep anti-poaching teams in the field and maintain the "Rhino Strongholds" where these animals can thrive. They ensure that every Guardian is kept informed with exclusive updates from the front lines, showing exactly how their contributions are being used to provide medical care, aerial surveillance, and habitat security for endangered black and white rhinos.
Support Wildlife Orphans with Helping Rhinos through their Adoption Program
Helping Rhinos offers a unique way for the community to connect with individual animals through their Rhino Adoption program. Supporters can choose to "adopt" a specific rhino orphan, such as those being raised at the Zululand Rhino Orphanage, providing the funds needed for specialized milk, veterinary care, and 24-hour security. They provide adopters with a digital adoption pack, including a certificate and regular photos and videos of their rhino's progress, allowing families and classrooms to follow the journey of a young rhino as it prepares for an eventual return to the wild. They manage a symbolic adoption program that directly funds the rehabilitation of orphaned calves whose mothers were lost to poaching. It is a meaningful way to contribute to the survival of the species while learning about the individual personalities of the rhinos in their care.
